About the Role As a Telecommunications Tutor, you’ll deliver telecoms courses and demonstrations on topics such as copper installations and fibre splicing. Working with adult learners over 6–8 weeks, you’ll teach BTEC Level 2 and/or Level 3 in IT and telecommunications in the on-site training centre in Newcastle Upon Tyne. For those looking to transition into teaching, this is an incredible opportunity to gain teaching qualifications and hands-on experience. The role includes:
  • Full support to achieve a Level 3 teaching/tutoring qualification
  • An intensive 4-week training programme, where you’ll shadow experienced tutors and receive guidance to deliver courses confidently
Who We’re Looking For We are recruiting both Trainee Tutors and Experienced Tutors who are passionate about telecoms and eager to inspire learners. Trainee Tutors We’re seeking individuals who:
  • Have confidence and enthusiasm to deliver engaging sessions to adult learners, including those new to telecoms
  • Have at least 2 years of hands-on experience in BOTH copper installations and fibre splicing
  • Bring real-world technical expertise and experience mentoring, training, or supervising others in a telecoms environment (e.g., BT, Openreach, Kelly Group).
Experienced Tutors We’re seeking experienced professionals with:
  • Previous experience delivering accredited telecoms training to learners
  • A formal assessing or teaching qualification
  • A proven ability to deliver engaging, interactive sessions that keep learners motivated and ensure positive learning outcomes
Salary
  • £35,000–£37,000 for experienced tutors delivering accredited telecoms qualifications
  • £33,000–£35,000 for trainee tutors, with full support to gain teaching qualifications
